VR@Illinois is a collaborative initiative to support virtual, augmented, and extended reality teaching, research, and exploration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Core support is provided by members from the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) and University Library’s IDEA Lab and Media Commons, backed up by investments and expertise from campus Technology Services.  

VR@illinois provides a variety of support for faculty and students working in virtual and mixed realities, including:

  • Mobile virtual reality classrooms
  • Loanable headsets and cameras for viewing and capturing 360 media
  • Consultations on implementing VR in the classroom
  • Studio spaces for VR creation and exploration
  • Expertise and support for VR research projects
